Starting the Conversation

“The electrifying shine of luxury, the stranglehold of habit, and the ease of indifference binds a narrow vision.”

I’ve continued to hold onto the desire to reach a larger audience because the current state of conversation is appalling. Things can be better, easier, and more accessible. The trap we often find ourselves in is one of using the tools we are offered self-centeredly. Things have come into existence because we have learned and shared. Celebrating life’s small victories is a primitive joy that unites people. The natural preference of one’s self over one another’s is, at every moment, deepening the division in our state of existence. The electrifying shine of luxury, the stranglehold of habit, and the ease of indifference binds a narrow vision. The observable “We” has survived by discovering, imitating, and adapting. Everything depends such as every generation is born, raised, educated, and forced to face reality. With wisdom we have learned. With patience we have grown. With language we have shared. It is of utmost importance to refocus the center of our attention on the inclusive “We”.

When we are able to communicate beyond the limits of conventions, we will become one in mind and intention. Conventions are relative terms that enable us to communicate through defining observable differences. Beyond these differences lies the real hopes, fears, and insecurities of highly sensitive human beings. If we fail to assume responsibility for our actions the division will continue to isolate us and inhibit true progress. Time carries us forward without hesitation or concern. We retain the power to affect change at every singular moment. Refocusing our attention on the greater “We” has the possibility of improving every aspect of our lives. It includes you and me, us and them. There is no room for hypocrisy, blame, or ignorance in times of crisis. The division between people, countries, and religions are chipping away at the chance for harmony. We are one in spirit and bound by time. We must shed the misconceptions of previous generations, and find balance in all things. The impending doom of reckless selfishness does not need to be accepted as truth. The gift of life is not meant to be hoarded, it is meant to dwelled in as one.
